Abstract
The paper considers the problem of optimization of some forms of information and analytical support of prevention, solving and investigation of crimes. There are defined advantages and disadvantages of electronic document management system. The tasks to ensure document automation, increase the level of security and information content are out-lined. There was conducted a study on organization of electronic and paper document circulation in the criminal investigation units. The analysis of influ-ence of workload with documents on the efficiency of operational and service activity of law enforce-ment officers, including detectives of criminal inves-tigation department was carried out. Taking into account the specific character of operational and official activities of employees of the Criminal Inves-tigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Af-fairs of Russia there are defined main directions for improvement of forms of law enforcement intelli-gence operations aimed at increasing their effec-tiveness. The study also considers the possibilities of unification and automation of operations with documents and introduction of intelligent software for working with documents generated as part of carrying out law enforcement intelligence opera-tions.
