Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of a clinical case of endocrine myopathy on the background of cordaroninduced thyroopathy in a patient with arrhythmic form of coronary heart disease. Given the rare occurrence of endocrine myopathy against the background of cordaroninduced thyroopathy, the described clinical case is of interest to ophthalmologists of the outpatient level. The article describes the clinical picture of the lesion of the accessory apparatus of the organ of vision against the background of the absence of complaints characteristic of thyroid dysfunction. This paper presents the results of computed tomography of orbits with soft tissue densitometry by Hounsfield, which clearly demonstrate changes in oculomotor muscles that occur during endocrine myopathy in patients with amiodaroninduced type II thyroopathy and subclinical thyrotoxicosis. The necessity of thyroid hormone analysis, thyroid ultrasound examination and consultation with an endocrinologist in patients with diplopia and ophthalmoplegia who have been on amiodarone therapy for a long time even in the absence of symptoms of thyroopathy is discussed. Keywords: endocrine myopathy, ophthalmopathy, diplopia, cordarone-induced thyroiditis, amiodarone
