Abstract
In the article modern concepts concerning the definition of “professional direction of specialists” are systematized, the components and criteria of its formation levels were determined, and general conceptual provisions were adapted to the practice of professional training of future navigators. To this end, the information analyzed in the professional sources devoted to the professional training of specialists in different areas and generalized their own experience in the formation of professional competence, information culture, foreign language communicative competence of future ship navigators, which allowed to adapt the general theoretical positions on the use of an integrative approach to the implementation of the principle of professional orientation to the training system of future ship navigators. It was found out that the professional orientation of future navigators is an integral personality education, caused by conscious motivation of the cadet about the choice of maritime profession, which is determined by the prevailing factors of the needs-motivational sphere to perform functional duties in accordance with the statutory requirements, the current national and international legislation, the understanding of the purpose , intermediate objectives and tasks of a professional marine navigator, productive and adequate to the situation of the use of acquired in the professional training knowledge, skills and abilities. The structure of the professional direction of the future navigator forms motivational, orientational, value-based, cognitive components. Understanding the professional orientation of future navigators as the core of the personality-motivational component of their professional competence guides us towards the creation of integrated courses using simulators, simulation technologies based on augmented and virtual reality as conditions for quasi-professional training of future ship navigators.
