Abstract

The study discusses the idea that the multi-ethnic Russian society will be successful if the principles of the harmonious ethnic relations exist. The strong potential of the youth is recognized. The research emphasizes that it can be fulfilled if young people are effectively integrated into the modern Russian society suffered from the gross social inequalities. Based on the sociological study, the author examines the attitude of young people towards social inequality in terms of the ethnic factor. The study reviews such indicators of ethnic inequality as the representation of titular and non-titular ethnic groups in the regional and municipal authorities and the possibilities of language contact and intercultural communication among the inhabitants of the multi-ethnic region. The author concludes that young multi-ethnic representatives of the Republic of Adygea do not regard the ethnicity as a key to success, although they appreciate its role in their life.
