Abstract
An intravenous (IV) infusion monitoring sensor based on longitudinal electric field proximity detection technique according to the present invention comprises: a proximity sensor outputs a sensing signal indicative of an electric field change caused by drop of IV fluid drip, being composed of two or more conductors forming an electric field in the longitudinal direction and arranged such that a clearance is provided in the longitudinal direction in which IV fluid drip drops on the outer surface of a drip chamber for receiving IV fluid; and a sensing signal processing unit for receiving the sensing signal and determining whether IV fluid drip has dropped or not, and outputting the IV fluid drip detection information.
