Abstract

The article reflects the problem of revealing by teachers and psychologists of the mistakes of parents in raising their children. The analysis of the errors of family education and the nature of their influence on the basic processes of becoming a teenager. Authoritarian, democratic, and liberal parenting styles are highlighted and characterized. The opinions of Russian and foreign educational psychologists are contrasted. Proponents of humanism argue that only in an atmosphere of kindness can genuine education be realized. Proponents of another concept prefer rigor and stringent requirements. Common errors are shown. The conclusion is made that a special consideration is required on the criteria by which the degree of influence of parental errors on a child can be determined, as well as the situation of a teenager from the point of view of optimizing parenting.
