Abstract
The purpose of this article is to systematize and analyze existing conceptual approaches to defining digital innovations, identifying the mechanisms of value creation and substantiating the differences between digital innovations and innovations in the field of IS/IT. This article systematizes the concepts of digital innovations, reviews and analyzes various definitions of digital innovations in the scientific literature, and high-lights the key characteristics and features of this concept. A comparative analysis of digital innovations and innovations in IS/IT is carried out: digital innovations are compared with innovations in the field of information systems and technologies to identify fundamental differences and similarities. A definition of the mechanisms for creating the value of digital innovations is proposed: the mechanisms by which digital innovations create value for business and users are studied and summarized. Technological and managerial characteristics are highlighted: the main technological and managerial aspects of digital innovations that influence their development and implementation are identified.
