Abstract

The paper discusses the directions of digitalization in the economy, analyzes approaches to understanding the essence of this process, and also characterizes modern problems and determines the prospects for digital development of the agrarian sector of the Republic of Belarus. Factors associated with increased sanctions pressure from Western states are identified, the actions of which complicate the process of digital development of the industry in the foreseeable future. In the process of research, methods of system analysis, ranking and selection of priorities, as well as economic and statistical methods were used. As part of the study, a significant lag in the process of digitalization of the country's agricultural industry from neighboring states was revealed. The article also characterizes the main directions of the digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex, considers various programs for the development of technologies in the agricultural regions of the country, and identifies specific features of the digitalization of the agrarian sector of the economy. In this regard, full mechanization and automation of agricultural processes are singled out, as well as the saturation of agriculture with digital systems for collecting, processing and storing related information, which together makes it possible to effectively carry out agricultural operations without direct human participation. An important role is also played by the importance of purchasing digital infrastructure for organizing the efficiency of digital agriculture, without which the potential of the Belarusian agro-industrial complex cannot be fully realized.
