Abstract

Over the past two decades, in the marine fisheries of a number of countries medium-tonnage RSW type fishing vessels have experienced considerable development, which were characterized by new architectural solutions and fitted with modern equipment. The obvious interest in modern efficient vessels predetermines the need to develop a methodology for their optimization design. Information about medium-tonnage RSW type fishing vessels in the open press is quite poorly represented, only in the form of advertising brochures illustrating the schemes of general arrangement. The uncertainty of design parameters is significantly reduced due to reconstructing ship characteristics. The problem of determining the hull capacity and its components of modern medium tonnage RSW-type fishing vessels was studied. The materials from periodicals, analytical reviews and sites of design organizations were used as the initial data for the study. In the course of the research, theoretical drawings of a number of modern vessels were reconstructed using Maxsurf software and their hulls were divided into compartments. According to the results of calculating vessel capacities, regression dependences of the volume of individual compartments of the vessel on its main elements and characteristics were generated. The performed verification of the received formulas showed their acceptability in the equation of capacity with error of 5%. Reducing that error assumes a preliminary refinement of the capacity parameter of machine room for the selected prototype, taking into account the peculiarities of its power plant layout.
