Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the concept of the theory of museology presented by Jiri Neustupný in his work «Issues of Contemporary Museum Work», published in Prague in 1950, and to identify mutual influence and similarities in the views of the Czech museologist and Soviet museologists of the period researched. The results of historiographic research show absence of special works on this topic. In addition to scientific works published in Russian, the article is also based on the sources of Czech and Slovak museological literature in the original language, which are first introduced into scientific circulation in Russia. Theory about the division of museology into special museologies and general has a tradition in Czech and Slovak museology. In Russia, the term «special museologies» is not used by museologists, here it is formulated as interdisciplinary scientific directions.
