Abstract
The published article is devoted to current issues of import substitution caused by the imposed sanctions and the general geopolitical situation. Import substitution is the key to the competitiveness of both an individual business entity and the economy of the industrial complex as a whole. The main problems of import substitution and the required factors of import substitution are outlined. The scientific article emphasizes the importance of the state as the main driver of import substitution processes in the industrial complex of the Russian Federation, as well as the role of innovatively active enterprises with state participation.
