Abstract

The analysis and evaluation of the results of monitoring two indicator algal viruses of Tetraselmis viridis and Phaeodactylum tricornutum, isolated from three differing in eco-logical well-being bays of Sevastopol during the pandemic of Covid-19 (2020–2021) were carried out against of the background of the results of long-term monitoring (2002–2019). An improvement in the ecological situation of the studied bays of Sevastopol during the years of the pandemic was revealed. This is probably due to the fact that the period of the Covid-19 pandemic in the situation of restrictive and quarantine measures carried out in the city of Sevastopol was accompanied by a decrease in anthropogenic pressure and con-tributed to the improvement of the ecological status of marine areas.
