Abstract

The article discusses and analyzes the reasons for reducing the operational life of a body suspension unit - the stop-limiter for horizontal movements of a bogie frame, currently used in the design of the mechanical part of most locomotives of the new series. It is demonstrated that during operation, the change in the regulated technological parameters of the stop-limiter occurs at a relatively low mileage of the locomotive, and the current repair technology does not provide for its prompt replacement due to design features. Based on the analysis of the mechanical properties of the materials used, the stress-strain state of a stop pin model was obtained when interacting with a thrust plate. The results of the calculation of the strength of the stop presented in the article show the predominance of plastic deformations in the contact spot with the thrust plate, which justifies the need to use materials with a higher yield strength to achieve a minimum safety factor. In this article, the possibility of improving the performance of the stop-limiter for horizontal movements of the bogie by improving its design and using materials with a higher yield strength is proposed and considered, its operation is described and the main advantages over its analogue are summarized, conclusions are drawn about the need to change the design in the conditions of a service locomotive repair depot.
