Abstract

The UN DESA report is dedicated to the topic of global economic recovery after the dramatic recession of 2020 caused by the shock of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is noted that the recovery was extremely uneven in different regions of the world. A number of developing countries were unable either directly or indirectly (through improved terms of trade) to benefit from the results of asset purchase programs in the most developed countries and, on the contrary, suffered losses due to rising world prices for energy and food. It is stated that there is a significant deterioration in the situation regarding overcoming extreme poverty.
