Abstract

Purpose: to analyze the results of monitoring some indicators of soil fertility in Central irrigated zone of Rostov region. Materials and methods. The data of the state monitoring of Rostov region lands, the Federal State Statistics Service data, the results of our research conducted in Bagaevsky district Rostov region were used. Results. An analysis of changes in humus content in Central irrigated zone soils revealed a trend towards a decrease in its value to 2.95 % by 2000. Further, since 2000, a slight increase in the humus content has been noted. During the period from 2015 to 2021, there is a decrease in the humus content in two of the three surveyed areas. In Volgodonsk region, the humus content in 2015 was 2.4 %, which did not change for the survey period in 2021, and was the minimum indicator for the areas in which the work was carried out. The phosphorus content in Central irrigated zone soils in the areas where the survey was carried out, is low, and potassium is very high. In 2021, in comparison with 2015, a decrease in the soil main microelements content was also noted, and there was a slight decrease in the reaction of soil medium from 7.8 to 7.7 and from 7.66 to 7.61. An assessment of the agro-productive capacity of soils was carried out on the example of Bagaevsky district Rostov region. Conclusions. The analysis of the soil fertility monitoring in Central irrigated zone revealed a negative trend towards a decrease in the main indicators. Such changes in the fertility main indicators have a significant impact on the ecological situation developed on these soils. The issue of increasing fertility should be solved taking into account the resistance of soils to degradation, this issue should be worked out most carefully on irrigated lands.
