Today in its collection there are six items dating from the early Iron Age and the Middle Ages. The collection began to form in the first quarter of the 20-th century. A whole series of metal mirrors was obtained as a result of archaeological excavations by V. A. Mogilnikov in the 1980-s. on the territory of the Forest-Steppe and Mountain Altai. In general, the receipt of this category of archaeological items in the collection of the AGKM was of an episodic nature and was carried out due to expeditionary work, the receipt of random finds and transfers from private individuals.
