Research design, data, and methodology: This study employed a survey to collect data from key Chinese companies in heavy machinery manufacturing. The questionnaire was developed through a pilot study and in-depth interviews, and the survey was conducted from April to June 2024. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0. Results: Analysis revealed that internal environmental management, eco-design, and investment recovery inf luenced both environmental and operational performance positively. Eco-design had the greatest impact on environmental performance, while internal environmental management and investment recovery significantly contributed to operational performance. The total explained variance was 72.871%, indicating meaningful correlations between variables. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that Green SCM enables companies in the heavy machinery industry to fulfill their environmental responsibilities while improving operational efficiency. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening eco-design and internal environmental management practices for sustainable business development.
