Abstract

The research substantiates the need to study and analyze current math teaching practices in terms of students’ individual educational paths. The study describes the structure of educational programs developed at Tyumen State University in this regard. The research examines math learning system created in the period of transition to new programs. The study describes the content-related problems of mathematics courses and their teaching arrangements, for example, the use of project-based learning and information technology. The research identifies problems related to teaching mathematics based on new programs. The reasons include stu-dents’ unwillingness to take responsibility for their learning content and learning arrangements and their low motivation to learn mathematics. Sev-eral solutions to the problems are outlined.
