Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of accomplishment goal orientation of yacht academy participants on maritime sports self-confidence and commitment. For this purpose, 374 copies were used for the actual analysis by using the convenience extraction method for 400 persons from May to October, 2016. The data were analyzed by frequency, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0. The following conclusions were drawn through this procedure. First, achievement goal orientation affects maritime sports confidence. In other words, all factors of achievement goal tendency influenced on social support and ability proving as the subordinate factor of maritime sports self-confidence, but only task orientation affects physical / mental preparation. Second, achievement goal orientation affects commitment. In other words, all the factors of achievement goal orientation affect the behavior commitment and the cognitive commitment, which are sub-factors of commitment. Third, maritime sports confidence affects immersion. In other words, ability proving and physical/mental preparation affects behavioral commitment as the subordinate factor of immersion, and all factors of marine sports self-confidence have no influence on cognitive commitment.
