Abstract
The article by Ukrainian ethnomusicologist Yuriy Rybak (Юрій Рибак) provides a thorough analysis of the traditional songs repertoire of the Northern districts of Volyn area in Ukraine based on contemporary methodological approaches of classifying Ukrainian folk songs. Collected by the author over a twenty year period, the repertoire consists of over seven thousand folk songs, most of which are ritual ones.
