Abstract

The chosen path of Ukraine into the European integration, causes the significant changes in the state, in particular, in the field of education. At the same time, the main attention is paid to the quality of education, which is important for the management of the problem of improving the national monitoring system. For the first time, the particular attention to the monitoring of education was paid in the thirties of the twentieth century. Subsequently, the wide international comparative monitoring research concerning the quality of academic achievements of students began. The Ukraine’s participation into the international projects contributed to the process of modernizing of national vocational education. The change of the paradigm of education is taken place, and characterized by the transition from the so-called, responsive vocational education, to an outspoken, based on a competent approach. In this case, the main concept is “professional competence”, which serves as a productive and active characteristic of the training of future skilled workers in the vocational schools. For providing the quality services, it is important for the educational institutions to have the information on the level of their graduates’ professional training. This is possible due to monitoring, which is a set of measures aimed at obtaining the reliable information concerning the current state of vocational training of graduates of vocational schools in order to analyze it further and make the necessary changes in order to improve the educational process. At the same time, the monitoring should be regarded as an integral part of the modern educational process, during which the students continue to study, develop and educate professionally. In order to monitor the quality of professional training in the vocational schools, we propose to distinguish five stages: the informational, teaching, preparatory, monitoring and evaluation, analytical and diagnostic and prognostic and managerial.
