Abstract

Relying on his original methodology, the author for the first time analyses collective cognitive experience of participants of a “revolutionary rock experiment” of the end of the 1980s - the beginning of the 1990s and it constitutes scientific originality of the study. The research material includes texts of the Russian rock poetry. The research objective involves identifying specificity of destructiveness of the “revolutionary romanticism” trend of the domestic rock culture. The findings indicate that within counter-cultural environment, the rock poets’ cognitive-pragmatic program was based on the contrast of the global elevated goal and the disappointing result. The key categories of revolutionary romantic consciousness (victory, faith, kindness and struggle) are recoded, and the rock poets trace gradual destruction of the “heroic” cognitive-pragmatic program to the point of suicide and absurdity.
