Abstract
The article examines phraseological units with the component “псэ” (“soul”) in the Kabardino-Circassian language. The research objectives are as follows: to identify specificity of the lexeme “псэ” functioning in the structure of stable units of the Kabardino-Circassian language, to classify these units according to their semantic features. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in the Kabardino-Circassian linguistics, the authors analyse phraseological units with the concept ПСЭ through the lens of the national worldview and national mentality. The conducted research allows identifying synonymic rows of phraseological units with the component “псэ”; phraseological synonyms perform similar pragmatic functions but describe different aspects of a designated phenomenon.
