Abstract
This work is devoted to the selection of a filter material for a water treatment plant, both from a technological and economic point of view. The purpose of this article is to select the optimal, economically feasible filter material for a mechanical filter. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: selection of available filter materials, determination of the main indicators of the quality of the source water, design of a laboratory mock-up installation, conducting experimental studies, determining economic investments. The most important results are the presented effectiveness of the analyzed filter materials and their comparative characteristics. The significance of the results obtained lies in the selection of the optimal filter material for the Kazan thermal power plant.
