Abstract

The article reveals the notion “linguo-cultural scenario” and characterizes its basic elements - nominative units. The paper aims to describe the “Employment” scenario and to analyse nominative units that serve as means of its linguistic representation. This problem has not been previously investigated. Originality of the study involves comprehensive linguo-cognitive analysis of linguistic material, linguo-cultural scenario as a cognitive scheme, and description of means of linguistic objectivation of the subject area “Employment”. The researcher’s attention is focused on identifying structural-semantic peculiarities of one- and two-component nominative units of the mentioned scenario. The findings indicate that in the modern English language, there’s a tendency to laconization and linguistic economy. Separability, nominal character and affixation of the analysed nominators are manifestations of this tendency.
