Abstract

The paper aims to reveal specificity of linguistic representation of the English-language linguo-cultural scenario “Banking”. The article reveals the notion “linguo-cultural scenario”, describes its structure. The researcher’s attention is focused on identifying structural-semantic peculiarities of structurally separable and inseparable nominative units of the mentioned scenario. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the author suggests a comprehensive linguo-culturological approach to analysing linguistic material within which linguo-cultural scenario of the subject area “Banking” is considered as a cognitive scheme of the speech situation. The findings indicate that in the modern English language, there’s a tendency to linguistic economy. Separability, nominal character and multicomponent structure of the analysed nominators are manifestations of this tendency.
