Abstract

This study conducted a positive psychology program based on Adler''s psychology for college students and qualitatively analyzed the participants’ inner experiences during the group counseling process. The participants were students of H University in Gyeonggi-do who voluntarily participated in positive psychology group counseling. The data, which included participants’ program activity sheets, transcript analysis of conversations, observation data, and a free-form report for each session, were dimensionally classified in accordance with Krippendorff’s (2004) four-step procedure. The analysis yielded four dimensions of client experience, namely, interpersonal relationship, mental dynamic, personality and personality growth, and emotional freedom dimensions. In addition, 16 categories of qualitative change were derived. Based on the results, the need for a positive psychology program and limitations of the study were outlined.
