Abstract

The aim of the study is to reveal A. I. Yatsimirsky’s contribution to the research of the creative activity of the Polish exiled writers W. Sieroszewski and A. Szymanski. The article discusses Yatsimirsky’s main works on this topic, analyses the scientist’s views on the Polish writers’ publications created on the basis of the Yakut material. The innovative nature of Yatsimirsky’s works on Sieroszewski and Szymanski at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries is noted. The scientific novelty is explained by the fact that the aspect of A. I. Yatsimirsky’s scientific activity is poorly studied. As a result, it is shown that in A. I. Yatsimirsky’s works the Polish exiled writers’ creative activity was considered in the context of the Polish, Russian and pan-European literary process of the era; the researcher paid special attention to the social aspects of their works.
