Abstract

The article considers the problem of the development of professional foreign language teachers’ competences of TEFL students. The author suggests the use of contextual technology for teaching English in order to transform students’ educational and cognitive activities into professional. The author provides the analysis of the peculiarities of the students taking themselves as a professional, teaching activities as a way of self-realization and adoption of the value system of pedagogical activity. The article proves that the theory and technology of contextual education, allow to transform the TEFL students’ educational activities into professional ones, with their gradual awareness of their pedagogical professional identity.
