Abstract

The article examines the possibilities for professional and personal development when training a bachelor of pedagogical education - a future foreign language teacher - by means of linguo-theoretical disciplines. Professional and personal development is considered as a purpose of higher education. The authors clarify the role of philological and professional linguistic competences in the professional and personal development of a foreign language teacher, formulate requirements for the content and realization of linguo-theoretical disciplines from the viewpoint of a future teacher’s professional and personal development.
