Abstract

The article discusses the development trends of economic entities in the current conditions of pandemic restrictions. Statistical data on the level of GDP and the development of the Ukrainian economy are presented. An analysis of the negative impact of the pandemic on the development and functioning of enterprises in 2020-2021 was carried out based on data from the State Statistics Service. There is a characteristic of various fields of activity, analyzed in detail by the volume of losses from the pandemic. Information is provided on the negative impact of the pandemic on the financial activities of companies in order to identify problems that must be solved by the state. As for individual sectors, non-agricultural sectors have been more affected by the pandemic than agricultural ones. Entrepreneurs' reaction to the situation was expectations, a change in the direction of production in response to new demand (for example, sewing masks) and the acceptance of online orders for future deliveries. Positive consequences of pandemic restrictions are also identified, such as the emergence of new types of services and products. It should be noted that due to pandemic restrictions, the delivery and courier services sectors have significantly increased their profits. In conclusion, the article proposes methods for stabilizing the financial activities of business entities in the current conditions of pandemic restrictions, which will not only protect the company from losses, but also gain significant advantages over competitors. The forecasts of leading economists on the further development of economic entities in Ukraine after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic are given. It was noted that Ukraine should use both monetary and fiscal instruments in the assistance package, in particular, unlike most countries, the National Bank of Ukraine has the opportunity to reduce the discount rate. Attention is drawn to the fact that it is easier for Ukraine to get out of the crisis than for other countries, since the industry of one of the main sources of income – agriculture remains almost without a negative impact, therefore, as scientists economists testify, it is easier for Ukraine to cope with the consequences of pandemic restrictions and turn the global crisis into benefit to economic development.
