Abstract
The article considers global trends of higher education, the impact of academic exchanges between countries on the development and effectiveness of reforms in this field. It also analyzes the necessity of entering the process of deep international integration of higher education, the fact that academic exchanges in the context of globalization have created the need for the development of intercultural communicative competence among students, as well as the functions of its development. The integrative, axiological, psychological and organizational aspects of pedagogical activity are analyzed.
