Abstract

The article dwells on lexical synonyms in the situations of legal discourse. The research is based on the idea of selforganization of complex open systems. Legal discourse as an open nonlinear system, author’s intentions as an attractor in a separate communicative block, general and special factors stabilizing the system of discourse are considered. The author’s attention is mainly focused on semantic variants in the statement/text as one of the linguistic means used by the actor to achieve the goals in a specific communicative situation (indictment, prosecutor’s closing argument, outline). The conclusion is made about the functionality of semantic variants in the process of transferring the intention.
