Abstract

To review the proper location and number of attached automatic fishing gear identification device regarding the small yellow croaker drift gill net fishing gear, this study conducted a fundamental research targeting small yellow croaker drift gill nets that might cause disposed fishing gear due to loss and damage, and conducted survey and marine experiment on model drift gill net fishing gear to review the field applicability. As for the preferred number of attached underwater transmitter of automatic fishing gear identification device, 76.9% replied 1~3 is most appropriate, and as for the location of attachment, 76.9% were in favor of float line. The sedimentation speed was 0.035cm/s, and in general, the underwater extracted state and behavior characteristics was stable. In accordance with the survey result regarding the number and location of attached underwater transmitter for automatic fishing gear identification device preferred in the field, this study believe applying the device on the drift gill net fishing gear following the same method, attaching an electric buoy on the first and last net of fishing gear, and attaching extra underwater transmitter in the middle of the drift gill net and float line will enable the data collection, but there is a need to conduct extra field verification experiment on the yellow croaker drift gill net fishing gear in the actual coastal waters using the currently developed automatic fishing gear identifiction device in trial targeting the small yellow croaker drift gill net fishing gear in the actual sea including various external elements.
