Abstract

The article is devoted to describing a relatively new method of linguistic research - the corpus analysis method - within the framework of the German phraseology. Due to computer technologies development, the corpus analysis method becomes increasingly relevant in phraseological studies. It allows identifying actual meanings of phraseological units tracing changes in their lexico-grammatical structure and stylistic affiliation. The author examines the history of the corpus analysis method as a new method of studying phraseology, provides a survey of the most important works on the German phraseology based on this method, analyzes results of introducing the corpus analysis method for studying the German phraseology and outlines prospects for further research.
