Abstract

The article is devoted to modeling the lexical-semantic field of the lexeme “money” in the Russian and Chinese languages. Field structuring is carried out basing on the criterion of stylistic markedness. In the course of the work, the author makes an insight into historical ideas about money in the Russian and Chinese languages and includes the names of monetary units and funds in common cultural context. The analysis of the lexical-semantic composition and field structure in the structural-semantic, comparative and linguo-culturological aspects helps to understand the content and functioning of the lexeme “money” in general and to reveal ideas about money that are specific to representatives of different nations, in our case - the Russians and the Chinese.
