Abstract

Macular hole (MH) is a layered through defect in the central part of the retina from the inner boundary membrane (IBM) to the outer layer of photoreceptors, leading to a decrease in vision, and in some cases to disability (related to vision). Surgical treatment of MH is one of the most actively developing areas in modern ophthalmology. The article considers a clinical case of the proposed method of macular hole treatment in complicated cataract (RF patent No. 2731794 dated 08.09.2020). It is shown that in order to increase the anatomical and functional efficiency in the presence of large macular holes, it is recommended to use the developed method of surgery using an autocapsule of the lens taken during cataract phacoemulsification. It allows you to restore the structure of the outer retinal layers and achieve high functional results. Keywords: macular hole, lens capsule, capsulorexis, phacoemulsification, cataract.
