The article presents the results of a study aimed at identifying the typical psychological portraits of the alienat-ing and alienated parent that exist in everyday psychology and ordinary consciousness of some Russians. Por-traits include both those psycho-emotional characteristics of a person that disrupt the harmonious process of mutual parenthood and interpersonal communication, and characteristics that support the successful course of the personal and social components of family life.
