Abstract

The subject of the research is the possibility of strengthening the positions of the developing countries’ currencies in the existing conditions of dollar monopoly and the world financial architecture controlled by the USA. The aim of the study was to identify ways to improve competitiveness of the developing countries’ currencies, taking into account the trend towards regionalization and monetary polycentrism. The study was carried out on the basis of the application of the principles of determinism, induction, deduction and hypothesis, as well as methods of system and statistical analysis, classification, grouping. As a result of the study, the internal and external factors of competitiveness of the of developing countries’ currencies were identified, measures were proposed to stimulate their international use. The expediency to create regional and interstate currency associations with a full-fledged complex of alternative international institutions and elements of the financial infrastructure capable of functioning outside the existing global dollar-centric contour was shown.
