Abstract

Early professional orientation, taking into account the individual characteristics of the personality, can increase the likelihood of successful professional formation and reduce the risk of professional destruction. The article examines the problem of the relationship between the personal characteristics of adolescents and professional identity. The aim of the study is to identify the relationship between the personal characteristics of adolescents and the process of professional formation. In the course of the work, the hypothesis is put forward that there are personality peculiarities that influence professional formation. In order to test the hypothesis, a study was con-ducted involving students of the Department of Psychology and Philosophy at Dagestan State University. The study intends to reveal the relationship between temperament, coping strategies, and professional identity. The results of the correlation analysis showed the presence of a connection between some temperament structures according to V.M. Rusalov and the methods of coping behavior according to R. Lazarus.
