Abstract
The article examines the economic impact of mass false bomb threat calls faced by shopping centers in Russia. The causes, prevalence of this phenomenon, and its impact on shopping center businesses are analyzed. Attention is given to direct and indirect losses, such as lost revenue, evacuation and inspection costs, and decreased trust from tenants and visitors. Estimates of damage to Moscow shopping centers' economy are provided, reaching tens of billions of rubles annually. Mechanisms for minimizing losses and the influence of these events on the sector's stability in a transforming market are discussed.
