Abstract

The article discusses the possibility of using art therapy in working with younger adolescents who have experienced abuse. The authors present different views on the definition of the concepts “art therapy” and “abuse”. The authors point out the relevance and effectiveness of the use of art therapy methods in creating psychological and pedagogical conditions for developing and strengthening students’ mental health. The results of the study of psychological characteristics, anxiety level of younger adolescents who have experienced abuse are presented using the cases of urban school students of the Altai Republic. In addition, the authors of the article describe the features of the compiled and tested program of classes using art therapy with young abuse victims and analyze its effectiveness.
