Abstract

The results of the hillock and the nearest area of mound No. 51 of the Sargat culture of the Ust-Tartas mounds site study are presented. A wide complex of ceramics and stone tools was obtained which made it possible to date these materials earlier than the mound. Stone products are represented by a tool complex, production waste, technical chips. Scrapers predominate among tools. Several cultural groups have been identified in the ceramic complex: the early Neolithic, the pit-comb community, the Krotovo, Irmen’, the early Middle Ages cultures. The “Sargats” took the soil for the mound from the surrounding area, breaking the cultural layer of the Neolithic — early-developed Bronze Age.
