Abstract

Based on the creative understanding of modern scientific literature in the field of spatial development, the economy of agro-industrial complex and timber industry, economic security, the article considers the key factors of spatial development of rural areas. It was revealed that the current conditions of economic uncertainty did not have a critical impact on the timber industry and agro-industrial complexes of the country. At the same time, despite certain successes in import substitution and ensuring food security, in some macroregions and constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the problems of spatial development of rural areas have become significantly aggravated, causing structural deformations. The analysis of the foreign trade turnover of agricultural and forest products of the Russian Federation, the Volga Federal District and the Perm Krai for 2016-2021 was carried out. A decrease in the coefficient of international competitiveness of rural areas of the Perm Krai for the study period was established. The conclusion is formulated that an obstacle to the successful spatial development of rural areas at the regional level is the lack of an integrated approach in management practice that takes into account industry diversity, regional specifics and influencing factors. Overcoming the existing problems depends on increasing the organizing and coordinating role of the state in using competitive potentials, regulating production, exports and imports of products from rural areas. The results of the study may be in demand in the processes of improving the management of the spatial development of rural areas of the country and regions.
