Abstract

The article spotlights the issues of content of musical education in kindergartens and the problems that arise as a result of focus shift from musical training to the grouppreparations for festive events. The attention is drawn to the genesis of musical sensory means, the problems of intoning that occur in early childhood in connection with the speech development and the diminishing of the role of prosodic and emotional forms of communication, and the reasons for the vocal intonation barrier emergence in some children. The authors characterize problems of involving primary schoolchildren in singing, caused by the number of children in groups, the limitation of musical and educational activities during the music classes by collective types of music practice;, as a result students who have not mastered singing by this time are not given enough attention to provide them with pedagogical assistance in overcoming the vocal intonation barrier. The study includes a number of efficient methods to develop singing skills in children; these include the following: musical and didactic developing games, vocal exercises combined with rhythmic and emotional games, schematic and visual representations modeling the pitch and sound ratios and tunes typical of children’s songs. The authors reflect on the peculiarities of singing development in teenagers and features of their vocal skills formation process. The following features of certain techniques for the auditory hearing development and singing skills teaching for schoolchildren are analyzed: the technique of relative system, N. Kon’s original technique, and techniques developed under the guidance of N. Vetlugina.
