Abstract

Both the road section and the tunnels of E-60 highway are being constructed in sparsely populated areas, resulting in less impact on populated areas. Nevertheless, concerns about the impact of the tunnel construction process on the surface relief are common; In particular, what kind of surface deformations are expected along the route of the tunnel under construction, and to what extent, and at what distance from the axis of the tunnel already constructed/under construction is it permissible to construct a residential or other building? The values determined by analytical and laboratory methods of the parameters of the rock displacement mold on the ground surface can be specified during the construction of shallow tunnels along the axis based on the results of experimental studies conducted at special observation stations along the tunnel under construction. Studies determine the displacements and deformations of rock stratum from the tunnels under construction to the ground surface, as well as their impacts on the surrounding buildings. To determine a safe zone for the construction of residential and other buildings along the axis of the shallow tunnels under construction, similar requirements and restrictions, which are used during metro tunneling, as specified in sub-clauses 3.6 and 3.7 of the normative document СНиП 32-02-2003 (СП 120.13330.2011) can be applied.
