Abstract

The paper reveals a methodological potential of interactive technologies when teaching foreign language to higher school students. The article considers problems of forming students’ language competences - linguistic, compensatory, discursive, sociolinguistic, social and sociocultural. Scientific originality of the paper involves justifying efficiency of multimedia teaching aids and interactive projects when forming higher school students’ communicative competence, which serves as a basis for further development of their language competences. Analysing usage of interactive technologies, the authors conclude about the necessity to develop foreign language teaching methodology focused on broadening students’ language competence, so that efficient foreign-language communication becomes a key component of professional competence. The findings indicate that application of current methodological approaches (person oriented and activity oriented, differentiated, cognitive, communicative and sociocultural) promotes formation of a competent and competitive specialist with a high level of foreign-language competence.
