Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the form- and content-related features of E. G. Vodolazkin’s dramatic works in the context of the historical and axiological dominants of his epic writings. It is necessary to determine how the lyrical and dramatic works from the collection “Sister of the Four” continue to develop and reinterpret the ideas characteristic of the author’s epic works about the relationship between a person and history, the themes of time and death. The study is original in that it is the first to analyse the collection “Sister of the Four” in the context of the author’s novels. As a result, the researcher concludes that E. G. Vodolazkin continues to develop the main themes of his novels in his plays, in particular, the central theme, i.e. the theme of history, which is explored through the themes of death and time.
