Abstract

The article deals with the urgent issue of food self-sufficiency of the subjects of the Russian Federation and the impact of state financial support on it. Both the food security of the country and the food self-sufficiency of a particular region are among the main directions of state policy today. For the northern, Arctic region with complex climatic, transportation, infrastructure conditions, food security is a complex multifactorial problem. Low agricultural potential and hence insignificant volumes of local agricultural production are reflected in the food market in the form of its shortage and the high cost of goods sold. Sometimes this leads to non-compliance with the recommended rational nutrition standards of the population. Due to market mechanisms, the food problem cannot be completely solved, especially in the northern regions. It is necessary to take more effective measures of state financial support that contribute to increasing the volume of own food production.
