Abstract

The aim of the research is to shed light on the features of linguistic representation of emotion and evaluation in the mass media of Russia and China in a comparative aspect. Scientific novelty of the research lies in involving new factual material for the study of emotivity and evaluativeness in linguistics, as well as in supplementing and clarifying the classification of linguistic means of emotion and evaluation representation. As a result, it has been found that there are certain differences in the means of emotion and evaluation expression in Russian and Chinese electronic mass media texts. The researchers have noted a variety of linguistic means with an emotive-evaluative meaning (“emotion + evaluation”) in the Russian mass media and linguistic means with an emotive meaning (“emotion”) in the Chinese mass media.
